Moulin Fougere Rouge - Burgundy
Welcome to LE MOULIN FOUGÈRE ROUGE a most beautiful river mill in one of the most magical settings in Burgundy, sleeping up to 16 people (plus 2 children) and situated in the Côte d’Or on the edge of the Morvan National Park.

The Mill dates from at least the time of Napoleon III and even has its own Eiffel – a wrought iron spiral staircase made by the Towering Man’s own Dijon foundry. From 1903 it was an electricity factory, supplying power to the surrounding hamlets. It was later converted to a residence and then major renovations were carried out from1995 by its most famous owner, the popular French singer, Florent Pagny. We are thrilled with this corner of paradise and offer our second home for long-weekend and holiday rentals.

Set in more than 2.5 hectares of riverside grounds with private fishing rights (subject to permis), Le Moulin nestles in a wooded valley, offering a secluded setting for those seeking a peaceful retreat and a superb position for those seeking more active enjoyment such as cycling, walking and fishing. The River Serein flows up to Chablis (35 minutes drive away) through our grounds and fuels the millrace that originally powered the mill. This race (which we hope to restore to its former function, at least in part, in coming years) still runs under the Mill and the beautiful cascade remains to provide a stunning backdrop to meals on the riverside terrace. All this means you are constantly surrounded by the calming sound of running water.

Original features have been preserved and sympathetically incorporated into the restoration, including beams, doors and some flooring, the whole providing a spacious and comfortable home with a very individual character.
